Pre-Renovation Asbestos Survey

Steer Environmental completed a pre-renovation asbestos survey for a private homeowner client in Trail, BC. The survey identified potential asbestos containing building materials (ACBM) in bathroom and attic areas of the residence. In accordance with Section 6.1 of the WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR), and Safe Work Practices for Handling Asbestos, ACBM samples were collected, catalogued, and submitted to an accredited laboratory for characterization. Laboratory analysis confirmed potentially friable asbestos containing materials (ACM) exceeding the WorkSafeBC regulated level of 0.5% content in bathroom flooring. Steer Environmental solicited quotes from local contractors to conduct asbestos abatement work. A final report was delivered to the client cataloguing ACBM items, presenting laboratory results characterizing ACM materials, and photo-documentation of the residence.
